Why Stay?
Designed as a wellbeing island and the first of its kind in the Maldives, JOALI BEING offers personalised transformative programmes; the ultimate aim for guests being to return home feeling renewed, uplifted and inspired, with a new sense of ‘weightlessness’.
Nestled on the secluded island of Bodufushi in Raa Atoll, amid crystalline lagoons, pristine beaches and lush coconut palms, JOALI BEING is the Maldives' first and only exclusively wellness-focused retreat, providing guests with an individualised, transformative wellbeing experience centred around the Four Pillars of Wellbeing: Mind, Skin, Microbiome and Energy… which makes it completely unique and absolutely unforgettable. Unlike a spa resort, where guests can book individual treatments, JOALI BEING creates personalised Wellbeing Programmes based on the unique goals and concerns of each guest.
Along with 39 treatment rooms, the resort offers a collection of unique Transformational Spaces such as KAASHI (the Hydrotherapy Hall), SEDA (the Sound Therapy Hall), The Discovery Sound Path, CORE (the Movement and Fitness Zone) and Ocean Sala (the Overwater Deck for anti-gravity yoga and meditation). The lush island is also an abundant playground for invigorating workouts and fitness routines with tennis and padel courts plus a marine and watersports centre; the exclusive art studio nurtures local arts as well as art-lovers through interactive events and workshops; and the Learning Centre offers a series of educational workshops and experiential classes on mindfulness, nutrition, health and wellbeing traditions.
Although designed as an adults-only retreat, JOALI BEING also offers kid-friendly resort activities for children below the age of 12 years during JOY of BEING: Kids Retreat periods at specific times of the year. Designed for a holistic wellbeing experience immersed in nature, each of the 68 Well Living Spaces combine an exceptional standard of accommodation – overwater or on the beach – with customised Wellbeing Bar setups, meditative musical instruments and wellbeing games, private pools and Jadugar (Butler) Service.
Culinary arts meanwhile focus on an Earth-to-Table initiative, promising ingredient traceability and offering fresh, locally harvested and sustainably sourced foods that support small farms. All food and drink options have been expertly curated with the help of the island's nutritionists and offers a selection of flavours and cuisines with healthy yet indulgent dining options.
