RWANDA

    Rwanda

Rwanda is a country that captures the heart and imagination of all who visit. Its lush, verdant landscapes are a testament to the incredible resilience of nature and the human spirit.

The Virunga volcanoes in the North-West are a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the critically endangered Mountain Gorillas. Trekking through the dense forests to catch a glimpse of these majestic creatures is an experience that will stay with you forever. Watching them play, eat, and interact with each other in their natural habitat is a humbling reminder of the incredible diversity of life on our planet. But Rwanda is so much more than just gorillas.

The country is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty that is sure to take your breath away. Lake Kivu, located on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, is a stunning inland sea that stretches for over 100 kilometres. Its crystal-clear waters are perfect for swimming, kayaking, and fishing, while its sandy beaches and lush vegetation provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation and contemplation.

For those seeking a more adventurous experience, the South-Western Parc National Nyungwe Forest is a must-visit destination. This epic rainforest is home to over 1,000 plant species, 322 bird species, and 75 mammal species, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and many more. Hiking through the forest, you'll be surrounded by the sounds of exotic birds and the rustling of leaves, as you discover hidden waterfalls and breathtaking vistas.

But perhaps the most striking thing about Rwanda is its people. Despite the horrific events of the 1990s, when the country was torn apart by genocide, the Rwandan people have emerged with a sense of unity, purpose, and hope that is truly inspiring. Everywhere you go, you'll be greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, as people welcome you into their homes and share their stories with you.
