The capital of Argentina is divided into 48 barrios (neighbourhoods), each with its own unique character. San Telmo, one of the oldest, boasts a lively tango and arts scene, along with antique markets and romantically lit streets. Recoleta ranks as the most elegant, with its tree-lined boulevards housing stylish restaurants, cafés, boutiques, shopping centres and art galleries; its parks and squares hosting street performances, art exhibitions and craft fairs. Retiro is a favourite for strolling, featuring many of the city's key sights; while Palermo Soho is youthful, artistic, fashionable and dotted with trendy shops and cafés.

Bariloche beckons with numerous attractions: its pristine natural wonders, from snow-capped peaks to vast forests and idyllic glacial lakes, offer endless outdoor adventures. Activities range from skiing and fishing to hiking, biking, mountaineering, trekking, various watersports and horseback riding. Additionally, the picturesque Nahuel Huapi Lake, home to the legendary 'Nahuelito' – Argentina's equivalent of the Loch Ness Monster – promises memorable scenic tours.

The quaint and scenic village of El Calafate, known as the national capital of glaciers, offers a tranquil and verdant retreat on the southern banks of Lake Argentino. Primarily serving as the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park, which houses the awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier – a colossal ice river often hailed as the eighth wonder of the world and one of the few glaciers on Earth that is still growing – it also serves as an excellent starting point for venturing into the national trekking capital, El Chaltén, should time permit.
