Window Level Wilderness
Why Choose Rocky Mountaineer?
Rocky Mountaineer runs exclusively in daylight, timing its routes through the Canadian Rockies to keep glacier-fed lakes, mountain passes and remote river valleys visible from departure to arrival – terrain that would disappear entirely into darkness on a conventional overnight service.
Seasonal operations April through October across Western Canada.
Explore & Experience
Onboard hosts and regional specialists add geological, wildlife and historical context throughout the journey, from mountain wildlife sightings to insights into local Indigenous heritage. Along the route, optional off-train excursions can include helicopter-accessed viewpoints, glacier areas and photography-focused departures led by experienced guides, depending on season and itinerary.
Rest & Recharge
GoldLeaf service features bi-level dome coaches with curved glass ceilings for uninterrupted views, plus a separate lower-level dining room serving multi-course Canadian cuisine and an open-air vestibule for outdoor access. SilverLeaf, meanwhile, enjoys a simpler yet still comfortable experience, with oversized windows, spacious seating and streamlined onboard service.
Journeys
Rocky Mountaineer operates six core routes across Western Canada, linking Vancouver with Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper and the wider Canadian Rockies. Itineraries range from focused two-day historic journeys to seven-day circle routes combining multiple mountain regions, with private charters and photography-focused departures available on selected routes.
