Essence of Malaysia focuses on island wellness, UNESCO heritage sites and cultural encounters via local markets and traditional crafts; Wild Malaysia routes through Taman Negara National Park – one of the world’s oldest rainforests – featuring Malayan tiger conservation tours, canopy walks and jungle photography.

Accommodation ranges from compact Pullman cabins rich in vintage charm to the expansive Presidential Suite, with day-to-night layouts that shift from lounge seating to twin beds. The rear Observation Car and open-air deck create space beyond the carriage environment; Chef André Chiang’s fusion of Chinese and Malaysian cuisine adds a little spice to onboard life. A dedicated Dior Spa carriage completes the onboard circuit, with two Toile de Jouy-finished treatment cabins introducing a layer of wellness.

Eastern & Oriental Express operates two core three-night routes: Essence of Malaysia and Wild Malaysia. Essence of Malaysia links Singapore with Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Langkawi, focusing on cultural centres, coastal regions and island stops. Wild Malaysia follows a more nature-led route through northern Malaysia and Taman Negara National Park, with both itineraries combinable into a longer six-night journey.
