Why Stay?
On a secluded peninsula near the ancient town of Lindos, where the blue of sky meets the blue of sea, Amoh is a resort that wears its history on its walls – quite literally.
Built on the site of a Hellenistic-Roman stone quarry where 'poros' limestone was once cut and shipped to build the great monuments of the Aegean, AMOH draws its character from the land itself. That stone appears throughout the resort today, a quiet thread connecting present to past, while uninterrupted Mediterranean views, two private beaches hidden in coastal coves, an outdoor pool and the ELISPA spa – with its treatment rooms, private couple's suite with jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath and indoor pool – ensure the present is very well taken care of.
Rooms and suites – from Hemera Hideaways to the 178-square-metre Rhoda Presidential Suite – take their names from Greek gods and nymphs, grounding every stay in the legend of the island. Four restaurants cover considerable ground: Lithos serves modern European cuisine with a Mediterranean accent, Cava di Pietra offers Italian classics overlooking the quarry ruins, Glaze puts prime aged cuts on a Josper grill alongside a teppanyaki terrace, Kymata brings locally sourced seafood to the shore. And the Oniro Patisserie, AMOH Lounge, pool bar, beach bar and cigar lounge round out an offering that feels as layered as the island's mythology.
