    IBIZA

    BALEARIC ISLANDS, SPAIN

“An Ibiza getaway in the Balearic Islands isn’t just for the night owls: it’s a haven of luxury villas, chic boutique hotels, pristine waters and white sandy beaches that attract a stylish crowd during the summer. Venture here for legendary clubs set against lush hills, untouched coastlines and coastal eateries. If you tire of lounging and swimming, the vibrant, narrow lanes of Ibiza Town’s historic district offer an array of vivid, unique shops.

    NOBU HOTEL IBIZA BAY

    HOTEL REVIEW

Close to Ibiza Town, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is brilliant – ideal if you want to be in the thick of it all and a real hotspot come nightfall with serious South Beach Miami vibes. In a nutshell, a clubby, boho chic luxurious lifestyle resort with a little bit of everything… Fine-dining at Nobu (the tasting menu is delicious, but you may need a midnight snack later!); poolside craft cocktails; lots of super-comfy spots to kick back and relax; Balearic beats; adult and family pools; a kids’ club; and all kinds of wellness experiences at the Six Senses Spa. Rooms and suites are stylish yet compact, but who wants to sleep when there’s so much to do?

Six Senses Ibiza is a breath of fresh air and the island’s much-needed five-star option. Tucked away in the north’s secluded Xarraca Bay, you’ll find there’s so much more to Ibiza than clubbing: farm-to-table food, market tours, sunset rituals and spiritual and wellness festivals (and the spa’s after-party detox programme is INGENIOUS!). It’s an easy 10-minute walk to Portinax, with its three beaches and some decent eateries; 20 minutes by car to Santa Eulália; and Las Dallias Hippy Market is also close by.

The season is so much longer than the clubs make you think too, with many restaurants open through November. And you won’t find anywhere else with this size and standard of accommodation, which includes unique cave suites built into the cliffs and private, three- to 10-bedroom Residences and Mansions, brilliant for families or friends to spend enjoy together.

There’s no beach at Six Senses itself, but the main infinity pool has stunning views. The new pool, bordered by sand and close to the Residences, is popular with families; or you can head via the lift to the Beach Caves area, which has its own bar and restaurant, a small number of sunbeds and parasols, direct access to the sea, plus paddle-boards and sea-kayaks (all watched-over by the on-duty lifeguard).”
