“I love Dubai. And particularly the Residence & Spa at One&Only Royal Mirage. So much so that, as soon as I arrive, I always know I’m going to be terribly sad to leave! It stole my heart from my very first stay and, all these years later, it still doesn’t disappoint. In fact, my love has grown even stronger!

Small, intimate and truly outstanding, you feel instantly at peace upon check-in and, before you realise, you’re ensconced in your spacious suite without a care in the world!

This time my stay was in a stunning rooftop suite – roomy, with lots of space to relax both inside and out, particularly on the vast rooftop terrace, with areas for lounging and outdoor dining – both with stunning views over the manicured gardens, the palm-shaded pool deck and out over the ocean.

One of my favourite things about this place is that the pool, restaurant and bar are exclusively for Residence & Spa guests, so it never gets crowded and the service is exceptionally personal. But, if you do fancy getting out into the thick of it all, you also get full access to all of One&Only Royal Mirage’s resort facilities.

• Afternoon tea at Residence & Spa’s The Dining Room, served between 3pm and 5pm – a very British affair!
• Lunch at Arabian Court’s Jetty Lounge – a chilled-out, day-to-night beachside lounge where it’s very easy to stay longer than intended! Try the chicken tacos… they’re absolutely delicious.
• Dinner at The Beach Bar & Grill by Mauro Colagreco – one of my favourite restaurants in Dubai. The staff are outstanding, there’s a great vibe and the ceviche and tuna steak are a must try!

It’s hard to get bored of everything One&Only Royal Mirage has to offer, however you must not miss out on the delights of sister property One&Only The Palm. Slick, elegant and sassy, it’s relatively compact by Dubai standards with just 90 rooms and suites, and is all about truly personalised service (which is why their repeat client base is so high).

Aside from outstanding service, there’s an array of incredible dining experiences here too. One of my personal favourites is 101 Dining Lounge and Marina by Yannick Alléno – a stunning seafood restaurant with lovely views over the marina and The Palm. You must try the seafood platter with its vast selection of flavours, and the garlic and thyme bread is outstanding.

Another favourite, STAY by Yannick Alléno, is a very classy affair with breathtaking décor and fabulous two- Michelin-star French fare. The six-course ‘Experience’ tasting menu with wine- paring, is great… you can just take your time and enjoy. And I loved discussing dessert options at the pastry library with the chef! Absolutely unforgettable.”
