Luang Prabang. For centuries, monks and novices have ventured out of their temples daily to traverse the town, receiving alms from the locals – a practice allowing people to earn merit and the monastic community to stay connected with the lay-people. This walking meditation takes place at dawn in various spots across Luang Prabang.
Siem Reap. Embark on a journey through the countryside near Siem Reap and explore the daily life of the surrounding villages aboard a vintage Jeep. Traverse the jungle's dirt paths and observe villagers as they cultivate rice fields, fish in the canals by the road, or partake in the customary practice of harvesting sap from sugar palms.

Siem Reap is a place we ‘re particularly fond of, thanks to the lovely riverside location, burgeoning cultural scene and one of the region’s buzziest dining and drinking locales. Most come to see the legendary temple complex of Angkor Wat, where, despite being over 11 centuries old, over 100 temples remain. There’s very little that can beat the sunrise or sunset there… apart from, perhaps, seeing it all from a hot-air balloon.

Head all the way across the Gulf of Thailand and eventually, close to the border with Cambodia, you’ll come to gorgeous Koh Kood. Densely covered in rainforest and edged by glorious golden sand and crystal-clear water, it’s an island with the least-spoilt beaches in Thailand (and that’s truly saying something). Meanwhile, the wild interior has plains filled with coconut and rubber trees and mountains with waterfalls. As well as those belonging to the upscale resorts accessible only by sea or helicopter, the best beaches here include Ta Pho and Khlong Chao, set along a coast that’s just perfect for snorkelling the beautiful coral reefs... or simply lazing your days away in a hammock.
