One of the oldest, best-preserved Cape Dutch farms in the heart of the Winelands, Babylonstoren sits on around 1000 acres of remarkable farmlands, orchards, formal vegetable gardens and vineyards.

Overlooking these landscapes, 32 cottages are found in stunningly converted 17th- and 18th century Cape Dutch farm buildings which give little hint to the graceful interiors that marvellously mix rustic with contemporary. Days are intentionally unscripted leaving you to do as you please: taking a stroll through the farm to see fruit being picked in the orchards or vines being pruned, picking your own salad to enjoy at lunch, or joining in and assisting with harvesting, pruning and planting in the eight-acre vegetable garden (season depending). Or, if you’re feeling a little more active, cycling through the grounds, taking a walk down to the clivia-lined river, taking a swim in the farm dam, or blissing out at the spa with a massage… all before superb sundowners at a local picnic spot. Heavenly.
