Why Stay?
Nestled in a rugged terrain of mopani woodlands and dolomite formations, the Ongava Tented Camp offers a small, intimate, and comfortable retreat reminiscent of the classic "Hemingway" camping era. The camp features ten elegantly adorned tents, each in the traditional Meru style, complete with en suite bathrooms that boast both indoor and outdoor showers, as well as spacious verandas. Before the camp lies a waterhole, drawing a diverse array of mammals and birds, particularly captivating at night under the glow of floodlights. The camp operates on solar inverter systems, ensuring a tranquil environment without the hum of generators or pumps during guest stays. In the dining room, with its open sides, guests enjoy delicious home-cooked meals seated together around a grand table.
At Ongava Private Game Reserve, guests can engage in nature walks, night drives, and other exclusive activities not allowed in Etosha National Park. Rhino tracking on foot is particularly popular at Ongava. Visitors have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, as well as both white and black rhinos, and the plains game of Namibia such as springbok, oryx, and hartebeest, whether on the reserve or in Etosha.
