Big, brash and fun, and at the very heart of Vegas, the Bellagio is Sin City's original family resort: a magnificent and opulent place, and still the one that every other hotel here has to beat.
So huge, it's almost like a small village, the Bellagio comes complete with its own theatres, fountains, art galleries, restaurants, four spas and of course the obligatory wedding chapels and casinos.
In the lobby, 100 hand-blown Dale Chihuly glass flowers dangle from the ceiling, and suites are verging on the excessive, with not one marble bath, but two!
Despite all the excess though, this über resort still manages to get everything just right, from Via Bellagio with designer shopping from Gucci, Tiffany, Armani et al to the best laid-out pool area in the city.
One ‘must-do’: eat at Jasmine’s Chinese or drink on the adjacent terrace, and you’ll be at the heart of the famous choreographed fountains – an unforgettable experience.
