Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Classic luxury that’s been on a contemporary spin cycle; that’s Rosewood Georgia, Vancouver’s historic and elegant retreat, where the great and the even greater have been welcomed since 1927.
A local legend in Vancouver, in its heyday the Georgia received guests of the calibre of Elvis Presley, Katharine Hepburn and British Royalty; and after a massive renovation, it’s worthy of its iconic status once more.
In fact, they’ve gone up a gear or two, be it on the delicious rooftop of the Rosewood Suite (with its plunge pool, fireplace and perfect views), in the indoor saltwater fitness pool (perfect for pre-breakfast laps) or at the ever-glamorous Hawksworth Restaurant.
The décor is gorgeous, right from the original wood paneling adding a 1920s feel to public areas to the hotel's original art (200 pieces from artists including Damien Hirst, Douglas Coupland and Patrick Hughes).
The overall feel is of 'no expense spared', and while the rooms are simple and classy in style, the quality is exceptional throughout (especially the super-deluxe bathrooms).
