Maui
What we love the most about Maui is that while it’s big
enough to never feel like you’re marooned, it’s small enough that one minute
you could be chilling on the best beach in the world, and the next, climbing up
a jungle waterfall. Andwith three days here, you can explore as much of the
island as you wish quite comfortably.
Definitely use one day to take the heritage Road to Hana
(a scenic drive across East Maui filled with one-lane bridges, waterfalls and
plantations that hark back to the days of old Hawaii). Then it’s a tougher
choice. You can snorkel the crescent-shaped Molokini Crater (a 25-minute boat
ride away), hike the Hoapili Trail, watch the sun rise – or set – from Haleakalā National Park, delve into historic
Lahaina – former capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii, or explore the island’s
north-western coast or celebrated Iao Valley State Park (home to one of Maui’s most
recognisable landmarks, the 1200-foot Iao Needle).
