The St. Regis Bahia Beach, Bahia Beach, Puerto Rico
From the moment John Jacob Astor IV opened the doors of his New York Beaux-Arts masterpiece, St. Regis has been delivering unforgettable moments wherever they break ground.
Puerto Rico is their first foray into the Caribbean, and without doubt one of the finest so far. As always, you'll enjoy time-honoured traditions reflecting the region's distinct local flavours and the latest creature comforts, set within a secluded location near El Yunque National Forest. The seclusion may not appeal to all, but the voluminous rooms and suites, exclusive Reméde Spa, exceptional golfing and fantastic kids' club means everything you need is right here.
Inspired by El Yunque's 50 species of fern, John-Georges Vongerichten's 'Fern' combines a curated selection of favourites from his global portfolio of restaurants using the highest quality meats and freshest local fish – all grilled to perfection. Elsewhere, The Beach Club serves casual lunches and locally-inspired dinners, and Seagrapes has a vibrant bistro cuisine and S'mores on Saturdays!
Two miles of uncrowded beach and the pool esplanade are where most guests relax, but the spa is excellent and the Robert Trent J ones Jr. golf course spectacular.
An eco-explorers paradise, trails and nature programmes curated by the resort put you right in the thick of it all; there's a brilliant Aquatics Centre for non-motorised watersports, sailing and lake fishing; tennis clinics and art classes are held regularly; diving and zip-lining are available nearby; and the Iguana Children's Club (for 4-11year-olds) is open from 10am to 5pm daily.
