​Instead, this peaceful destination relies on its natural attributes to lure its guests. And our three featured resorts are just as distinctive, as EDEN Travel Director Tara Lloyd discovered on her recent recce.

“Just walking into Silversands at the northern end of Grand Anse Beach will take your breath away. Lavishly detailed, technologically savvy and sleeker than sleek, I can’t ever recall seeing another hotel like this anywhere in the Caribbean. In fact, if I’d been blindfolded after my airport pick-up in the head-turning Tesla (the only one on the island) I could’ve sworn I’d landed somewhere in Asia. It’s the style that makes Silversands so completely unique and it’s easy to see why it attracts a slightly younger, design-conscious crowd than the more conventional choices. But the design isn’t its only wow-factor. You’ll spot another one – the 330-foot infinity pool (the longest in the Caribbean) – as soon as you arrive.

From the fabulous Silversands Spa for all your pampering needs (my highlight was the ice cave – so soothing if you get a spot of sunburn); to the awesome wining and dining options: Asiatique (Asian classics spiked with Grenadian spices – the Bang Bang Shrimp and Miso Mahi Mahi were amazing); the Grenadian Grill; and swanky cigar and rum bar, Pure. And I loved that most of the produce used here is sourced from the Grenada Network of Rural Women Producers. 

Then there’s the beach – a gorgeous mile-and- a-half stretch of soft sand, which though public, is more than likely to be peaceful; its generally calm waters making it ideal for swimming. 

Five minutes’ stroll along the sands brings you to a craft market and a clutch of often lively beach bars and you’re in walking distance of Grand Anse’s restaurants and shops too.

​As outstanding as the service, it all starts with breakfast – taken on your balcony or at the Beach Club. 

Tapas-style bites at the Beach Club form the basis of lunch: fresh, tasty, fare and all of it – from the chicken roti to the salads and shrimp tacos – excellent. And then there’s the dinner-only Rhodes Restaurant where there is a dress code, but the fine-dining there is definitely worth getting all glammed-up for – there’s so much choice and I can highly recommend the calamari gnocchi and the seared shrimp starter. 

Another highlight is the spa, not necessarily anything special to look at, but the massage was one of the best I’ve had to date. It’s right next to the pool too so you can go for a dip straight after your treatment.

​This smart (if not a little dated) restaurant set alongside the sea where you can enjoy a mix of authentic local specialties, Creole and international cuisine. Or, for something a little more casual, try the toes-in-the-sand vibe of the Sea and Surf Terrace and Bar. 

The perfect all-inclusive luxury experience here does make it tempting to spend every minute in resort to take advantage of the blissful beach, beachfront yoga pavilion, Janissa’s Spa and peaceful main pool and, if you do, then you’ll be properly pampered by an awesome team whose ultimate goal is to make every second very special indeed.
