DAY 1 Outbound international flight to San Francisco.

​DAY 4 San Francisco to Napa Valley
Drive Time: 1 hour, 25 minutes | Distance: 75 miles

A short drive to California wine country will have you arriving just in time for a long, leisurely lunch and a bottle or two of its most famous export – the only way to start your stay in Napa.

​DAY 5 Napa Valley

Leave your car and your worries behind and climb aboard the Wine Train – while Napa is home to many exquisite restaurants, none are quite like this. Housed aboard a collection of restored early 20th century railcars – great for a taste of pure Americana – this three-hour journey takes you through the valley for a glimpse of the finest scenery, towns and wineries in Napa, Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford and St Helena through the oversized picture windows while enjoying a gourmet lunch or dinner, crafted on-board in the specially-fabricated kitchen car. 
​DAY 6 Napa Valley to Yosemite National Park
Drive Time: 4 hours, 20 minutes | Distance: 216 miles

Cut across the central valley on Highway 4 or 12, hit Highway 49, head south and stop en-route in the Gold Country for an historic, fun and memorable experience. 
​DAY 7 Yosemite National Park

Of Yosemite, Scottish-American naturalist and author John Muir said it better than we ever could… “It is by far the grandest of all the special temples of Nature I was ever permitted to enter.” And on top of its treasure trove of natural wonders, this 1100-square-mile UNESCO World Heritage Site serves up an astounding number of attractions, activities and adventures too.

​DAY 8 Yosemite to Big Sur
Drive Time: 4 hours, 30 minutes | Distance: 232 miles

Leaving Yosemite behind, your next stop is beautiful Big Sur – described as ‘the greatest meeting of land and water in the world’ – and you’ll be gazing upon its spellbinding surrounds from one of our favourite hotels in the world.

​DAY 9 ​Big Sur

Not just a town, Big Sur is a region that has no real boundaries, so there are plenty of places to pull over, like McWay Falls and Pfeiffer Beach – but make sure you have a camera ready as the beauty is something else.
​DAY 10 Big Sur to Santa Barbara 
Drive Time: 3 hours, 50 minutes | Distance: 200 miles

Set off for Santa Barbara early and you’ll be able to travel back in time at Hearst Castle– an extraordinary 250,000-acre temple to opulence and excess. Cambria is a lovely spot to stop for lunch or some retail therapy, or look for otters on a guided kayak tour of Morro Bay.

​DAY 11​ Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara has long been a retreat for movie stars and creative types wanting an escape from LA, and it's easy to see why. The American Riviera has a Mediterranean-style magic, all the way from the ocean to the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains, with leafy streets, designer boutiques and a buzz-worthy food and wine scene.

​DAY 12 Santa Barbara to Los Angeles 
Drive Time: 1 hour, 30 minutes | Distance: 88 miles

An early start means you’ll arrive in Los Angeles mid-morning, with plenty of time to be ready for your private guide to pick you up from your hotel and show you all the glittering sights of this star-studded city.

Stay: Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills (2 nights)
​DAY 13 Los Angeles

Your last day in Los Angeles, so it's the perfect time to take some time out for a bit of retail therapy at The Grove, with a visit to Farmers' Market right next door. Or take a leisurely walk to West Hollywood and have some lunch at one of the many great restaurants.

​DAY 14 Depart Los Angeles on your international flight back to London Heathrow Airport.
