DAY 1 Outbound international flight to Seattle.

Stay: Four Seasons Hotel Seattle (3 nights)
DAYS 2-3 Seattle

Spend a full day getting under the skin of ‘The Emerald City’ with an expert guide who’ll take you to famous landmarks such as the Space Needle, Olympic Sculpture Park, Pike Place Market – the city’s epicentre of fresh produce and specialty foods, and home to the first ever Starbucks) – and maybe a tour of the Boeing assembly plant.
DAY 4 Seattle to Cle Elum
Drive Time: 1 hour, 25 minutes | Distance: 84 miles

This moderately-scenic drive is best done with a short detour to Snoqualmie Falls, and the nearby town of North Bend. Both locations were made famous by Twin Peaks: Snoqualmie Falls was the viewpoint used for its opening credits, and North Bend is home to the Twede Café (known in the show as the Double R Diner, and the place to go for some cherry pie and ‘damn fine cup of coffee’.

Stay: Suncadia Resort (2 nights)
DAY 5 Cle Elum

A small town kind-of city, Cle Elum is your gateway to the American west, with access to thousands of acres of mountain forest and high country lakes and streams – a real summer paradise and in winter, a haven for cross-country skiers and snowmobilers. Located in the Cascade Mountains, it’s also just 15 minutes from Roslyn, where hit show ‘Northern Exposure’ was filmed.
DAY 6 Cle Elum to Darby
Drive Time: 7 hours, 10 minutes | Distance: 495 miles

A large part of this drive can be pretty tedious with little to see, but when you do get to the wonderful Ranch at Rock Creek, you'll see just why it was worth the trek.

Stay: The Ranch at Rock Creek (3 nights)
DAYS 7-8 Darby

The only ‘Forbes’ Magazine five-star guest ranch, The Ranch at Rock Creek offers the very best in Western adventure, serene beauty and grand luxury under Montana's Big Skies. Take a seat on a saddled stool in the Silver Dollar Saloon and enjoy a drink. Cheer on the cowboys and cowgirls at one of the rodeos; immerse yourself in the Montana wilderness while fly-fishing, horseback riding, or hiking; head out on an evening stagecoach ride, then sample the delectable farm-to-fork cuisine, and later, toast s’mores around the bonfire
DAY 9 Darby to Yellowstone National Park
Drive Time: 4 hours, 10 minutes | Distance: 239 miles

Today you will drive to Yellowstone, the second best national park in the USA. We prefer taking Highway 287 (known as the Backroad to Yellowstone) because it gets you off the freeway sooner. Stop and relax at Norris Hot Springs, visit the authentic cowboy town of Ennis, and then enjoy one of the most scenic drives in America: the Madison Valley to the west and Big Sky country and all its glory to the east.

Stay: Yellowstone Lodge (2 nights)
DAY 10 Yellowstone National Park

With its dramatic peaks and pristine lakes, Yellowstone is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise, where multi-coloured pools swirl around hot springs, verdant forests weave past expansive meadows, and volatile geysers launch streams of steaming water toward the sky. There's no doubt whatsoever that the park is extraordinary, and while you traverse the park's 3000-plus square miles of mountains, canyons, geysers and waterfalls, be prepared to share the trails with its more permanent residents, like buffalo, elk and sometimes even grizzlies.
DAY 11 Yellowstone National Park to Jackson Hole
Drive Time: 2 hours, 15 minutes | Distance: 95 miles

Add another life-changing experience to your trip and take the route through 'Yellowstone's Little Sister' – the Grand Teton National Park – and soak up its equally-beautiful geographical features like sky-high mountains, sprawling lakes, and deep canyons.

Stay: Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole (2 nights)
DAY 12 Jackson Hole

Paddle and play in the waters of Jackson Hole's rivers and lakes; choose your vessel: a flat-water or sport kayak, stand up paddleboard, a traditional canoe or even an inflatable kayak "duckie; spend an evening with wolves, gaze at the stars in Grand Teton National Park, or take in a campfire Ranger Talk – the choices here really are endless.
DAY 13 Depart Bozeman for your return flight to London Heathrow via Chicago.
