DAY 1 Outbound international flight to Boston.

Stay: Four Seasons Hotel Boston (3 nights)
DAYS 2-3 Boston

A city of neighbourhoods, and a treasure trove of Americana, Boston is also foodies' paradise – especially for those who love seafood. Local specialities include sacred cod, fresh steamed lobster, oysters on the half shell and creamy chowder.
DAY 4 Boston to Chatham
Drive time: 1 hour, 35 minutes | Distance: 88 miles

On your way to the hook-shaped peninsula of Cape Cod, stretch your legs in America’s home town, Plymouth – home to the Mayflower II (a replica of the small ship in which the pilgrims made their fateful voyage), and Plymouth Rock, thought to be the settlers’ stepping stone into the New World.

Stay: Chatham Bars Inn (3 nights)
DAYS 5-6 Chatham

The patriarch town of Cape Cod with upscale shopping along shady Main Street, and pristine beaches that have placed Chatham on the list of best coastal towns in America. During your time here, take a whale- or seal-watching tour, head Chatham Lighthouse Beach for nature walks and views of the still-active lighthouse.
DAY 7 Chatham to Newport, Rhode Island
Drive Time: 2 hours, 25 minutes | Distance: 140 miles

If you love battleships, Fall River is well worth a small detour, as it’s home to Battleship Cove and the USS Massachusetts, a hulk of a craft that survived 35 battles in WWII and never lost a man in combat. Or for something a little more supernatural, take the short tour of Lizzie Borden’s House – now a bed and breakfast and museum, named as one of the most haunted places in the United States and a mainstay of many a historical documentary and paranormal reality show, thanks to its notorious past

Stay: Ocean House (2 nights)
DAY 8 Newport

Elms, Marble House, and Rosecliff mansions; cruise the harbour or soak up Newport’s provocative colonial history (the Historical Society’s Rogues and Scoundrels tour is not to be missed and you’ll see just why Rhode Island was once nicknamed “Rogue’s Island).
DAY 9 Newport to Southampton, Long Island
Journey Time: 2 hours, 55 minutes | Distance: 89 miles

Today your journey includes a trip on the Cross Sound Ferry from New London, Connecticut to Orient Point, Long Island, before continuing on to the wonderful Hamptons, a place that's ruled the New York summer scene since the days of the Fitzgerald's raucous parties in the roaring '20s.

Stay: The Capri (3 nights)
DAYS 10-11 Southampton

The Hamptons is a haven for affluent New Yorkers who flock to the region's quaint villages and sparkling beaches every year to summer in style. It's also been a mecca to artists for years and you can visit the 1879 residence and studio of two of its most famous residents – Jackson Pollock and his wife Lee Krasner – at the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center (complete with paint splotches on the floor) in East Hampton's Springs area. If adventure is more your thing, then why not learn to surf or try the increasingly-popular pursuit of stand-up paddle boarding? As expected, The Hamptons also has all kinds of great dining options, so let our concierge give you tips on the best places to dine.
DAY 12 Southampton to New York
Journey Time: 3 hours 15 mins | Distance: 90 miles

Take the train from Southampton to New York's Penn Station via Jamaica Station on board the Long Island Rail Road to avoid potentially-suffocating traffic during peak summer months.

Stay: The Mark (3 nights)
DAYS 13-14 New York

Three nights in the city that never sleeps is by no means long enough to fit all of its magical sights and sounds, so for first timers we recommend visiting the Empire State Building, One World Trade Centre and 'Top of the Rock' for the best views of the city. Most will want to venture up 5th Avenue for shopping, and undoubtedly Central Park too, but we'd also advise taking the trip down Broadway to NoHo and SoHo for a more eclectic, yet just as rewarding shopping experience
DAY 15 Depart New York on your international flight back to London Heathrow.
PRICES 14 nights from £3,675 per person, including flights & car hire
