  • Day 2

    Truth or Consequences

Sierra Grande Lodge boasts an exceptionally unique assemblage of outdoor activities and guided ecoconscious
adventure tours. Prefer to do your own thing? Take a scenic drive to nearby ghost towns like Cuchillo, Chloride, or artsy enclave, Hillsboro. Duck into Hillsboro’s Black Range Vineyard’s tasting room for a splash of New Mexico’s wine history (which precedes that of California). If beer’s more your thing, head to Truth or Consequences Brewing Co for a craft brew. Or zip into Hatch, the Chile Capital of the World for a taste of Sparky’s infamous green chile cheeseburger.

  • Day 3

Truth or Consequences to Santa Fe

Journey Time: 3 hours, 15 minutes

On your way out of town, stop by T or C’s quirky Passion Pie Café for some homemade pastries to help fuel your journey. Take a break in Albuquerque, exploring Nob Hill’s trendy stores or the historic Old Town’s distinctive cuisine and culture; cruise along old Route 66 (now Central Avenue) past buzzing neon signs, vintage motels and historic architecture; or grab some ‘Breaking Bad Candy’ from the Candy Lady on a tour of the hit show’s key locations.

Stay: Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado (2 nights)

    Your Stay

    Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado

  • Day 4

    Santa Fe

No trip to New Mexico is complete without a visit to Santa Fe, a magical, exuberant, colourful city for all seasons.
It’s famed for its spirited creativity, and seemingly endless assortment of amazing eateries, art and cultural hot-spots,
ancient Indian ruins, traditional pueblos, and natural wonders, but be sure to visit the Historic District’s original, adobe houses, some considered the country’s firsts. And if you’re not too tired come nightfall, head to the Galisteo Basin Preserve to view the dazzling starstudded night skies.

  • Day 5

Santa Fe to Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve

Journey Time: 2 hours, 50 minutes

There are all kinds of awesome attractions en-route to Zapata Ranch. First up is San Ildefonso Pueblo, known for its talented potters and workingartists. Heading on to the picturesque mountain community of Taos, you’ll pass Carson National Forest (home to New Mexico’s tallest peak, biggest game, and most spectacular scenery), Rio Grande Gorge and Taos Junction Bridge (this part of the journey is incredibly scenic). And just 10 minutes away from Taos’ gorgeous
historic architecture and art heritage is Taos Pueblo – an adobe UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back 1000 years.

    Stay: Zapata Ranch (4 nights)

  • Days 6-8

Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve

This sandbox of epic proportions encompasses 30 square miles; its tallest dune towers at 750 feet high. Because the dunes and surrounding mountains are designated wilderness, it’s great for enjoying unspoiled natural beauty in many ways. Splash around in the mysteriously appearing and disappearing Medano Creek, sled down the dunes, go bird-watching in wetlands, or ascend a 13,000-foot peak. It’s a hot-spot for dark-sky-loving stargazers too, with astronomy
    programmes available May to September.

  • Day 9

Great Sand Dunes National Park to Colorado Springs

Journey Time: 3 hours, 5 minutes

Today’s journey, heading north to Colorado Springs is relatively short, so what better excuse for a Pueblo pit-stop?
Once a rough-and-tumble mining town inhabited by infamous ruffians like Wild Bill Hickok and Buffalo Bill Cody, this
    sunny playground on the banks of the Arkansas River is fast-becoming one of Colorado’s favourite foodie destinations;
with a Creative Corridor that’s packed with galleries, museums, fountains, live music and other arts festivities.

Stay: Broadmoor Cloud Camp® (2 nights)

    Your Stay

    Broadmoor Cloud Camp
