Paradisus Varadero Resort & Spa, Varadero, Cuba
For a sprawling, ultra-inclusive Meliá Cuba resort, with no less than 40 buildings spread over a whopping 1.1 million square feet of beautifully-tended grounds, Paradisus Varadero sure manages to exude a lovely air of tranquillity.
It’s on a fantastic stretch of beach in the Rincon Francés zone within the Varadero ecological reserve – a vast cove-shaped area of soft-white sands with shallow waters, perfect for little ones – and has more facilities, pursuits, entertainment, sports, and services than you can imagine, in addition to spacious accommodation options and brilliant recreational zones (some for adults, others for families), all there to keep everyone blissfully happy.
There’s a vast choice of accommodation, but we highly recommend those in the exclusive Family Concierge area or, for adults only, those in the Royal Service section, which though 10 minutes’ walk from the main resort, come with butler service, a pool and beach concierge (the Royal Service beach is mostly coral though so you may prefer strolling over to the main beach or consider a stay at sister property, the adults-only Paradisus Princesa del Mar).
Restaurant-wise, it’s home to some of Varadero’s
best (12 in all including six globe-trotting á la carte restaurants,
one exclusive to Royal Service guests, and one for adults and over 12s. Activities abound. There’s pools galore, quality daytime and evening activity
programmes, watersports, land sports, the seriously-pretty Yhi
Spa and beauty salon and a number of boutiques.
There’s lots of brilliant family friendly accommodation and in-room amenities,
kids’ menus, activities and entertainment, cribs, high-chairs and babysitting
on request, and The Cubamigos Club for under 18s with mini-discos,
diving and sports programmes, a children’s parade, mini-eco excursions, and
movies – all absolutely magical.
