Kasbah Tamadot, Atlas Mountains, Morocco
Sir Richard Branson's Moroccan retreat is a bewitching sanctuary of traditional design, beautifully infused with contemporary elements to create an ambience of luxurious serenity with a hint of sensuality.
Set near the village of Asni in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, Kasbah Tamadot is the perfect location in which to enjoy the quiet beauty of the snow-capped mountains after the buzz of the Red City.
Within the Kasbah’s protective walls you’ll find a world of peaceful courtyards, exquisitely-landscaped gardens, intriguing staircases, and lavish rooms and suites, all beautifully designed and adorned with an eclectic range of artefacts from North Africa and Asia.
Just a stroll through the herb and vegetable gardens, nine luxury Berber tented suites oozing ethnic-chic (some with private plunge pools) provide an even more decadent experience, perched on the hillside and perfect for enjoying the views over the valley and mountains.
Days are spent lazing by the infinity pool or at the upper pool bar and terrace, or there are tennis courts, treks and the Asounfou Spa featuring a traditional hammam to enjoy. In the Kanoun restaurant the cuisine is as colourful as you'd expect from the land of the tagine, whilst drinks and dramatic views can be enjoyed on the rooftop terrace.
