Antarctica. Earth’s last great wilderness frontier and a place that's all but untouched by humanity. The power of nature here is overwhelming; the wildlife enchanting; the experiences almost unimaginable. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, and one that's on many travellers' bucket lists.

Cross the fabled Drake Passage and experience everything for which this icy continent is renowned: striking scenery of mountains, glaciers and icebergs, not to mention the staggering abundance of wildlife.

As you cruise around this captivating collection of isles at the bottom of the world, you’ll cross seas of glass, passing giant prisms of ice riding a cobalt sea, sharing the landscape with bellowing elephant seals and raucous rookeries of penguins, unafraid and unperturbed by your presence. The Falklands feel like a charming British village. Nightingale Island is said to be home to pirate treasure, and South Georgia is awash with countless tales of Antarctic exploration.

And when it comes to your own Antartic exploration, the ship's fleet of Zodiacs will get you closer to all the seals, penguins and albatrosses, amongst others. Watch young penguins take their first tentative dives into the ocean, and Leopard Seals recline in the afternoon sun. You can also take a hike to the top of Cuverville Island – or watch icebergs float majestically across the Lemaire Channel. There's time for more quaint pursuits, too: like afternoon tea in the Falklands, probably the southernmost afternoon tea in the world!

Antarctica is a remote and otherworldly destination that once beckoned intrepid explorers like Shackleton and Amundsen.  Join their ranks as you get up close to this continent and its surroundings – whether you're setting foot on this incredible continent or taking to the water on one of Silversea's thrilling guided Zodiac excursions.
