Palazzo Victoria, Verona, Italy
In the heart of the most romantic of cities, set across
three wings in a classic 14th-century palazzo built on medieval and Roman ruins (visible through plexiglass holes dotted around the hotel), and owned by a
local businessman who had a crush on the building since his childhood.
Palazzo Victoria may be rich in period detail (think high ceilings, original frescos
and tapestries, elegant Veronese décor and wraparound balconies), but she boldy
transports the whole beautiful package into the present and beyond, with modern touches throughout that make it a
unique, museum-like experience.
