Paris

WHY NOW? April in Paris is everything the song says it is – yes, the weather, though warmer, can still be hit or miss, but sunny days don’t get any better, when the Seine-side streets are once again peppered with buzzy cafés, and chic Parisians go about their stylish business in the fresh spring air.

Vietnam

WHY NOW? It may be last call for high season but April is a brilliant time to explore with moderate temperatures and lighter rainfall across the board. Best of all, mid-April is when Vietnam celebrates Songkran (Lunar New Year) – a fun-filled week-long mix of tradition, pageantry and water fights.

CLIMATE AVERAGES An average maximum daytime temperature of 27°C/81°F with moderate heat and humidity, and typically four hours of sunshine daily.

Marrakech

CLIMATE AVERAGES An average maximum daytime temperature of 24°C/75°F, usually with around nine hours of sunshine daily.

Japan

WHY NOW? One of Japan’s most beautiful sights are the blooming groves of cherry blossoms every April. Tradition is to let loose, go flower viewing (hanami) and enjoy daytime or moonlit picnic parties under the trees (Tokyo’s Ueno-kōen and Kyoto's Maruyama-kōen are our favourite spots).

CLIMATE AVERAGES An average maximum daytime temperature of 19°C/66°F, usually with around five hours of sunshine daily.

Florida

WHY NOW? Mild temperatures and school holidays mean April is super-popular. Beach weather is in full swing, so head to the “grown-up” areas around Marco Island and Naples. Being close to the Everglades you can switch up your beach time and seek out alligators in the mangroves too.

CLIMATE AVERAGES An average maximum daytime temperature of 28°C/82°F with moderate heat and humidity, and typically nine hours of sunshine.
