Peter Island Resort & Spa, Peter Island, BVIs
Looking down, and from a certain angle, we always think Peter Island resembles a darting arrow, enticing all who see it to come and explore.
Spread over 1800 acres, this is the BVI's largest private island, an all-encompassing resort with five sugar-soft private beaches, an oceanfront spa at the north end of Big Reef Bay, and a fantastic choice of jaw-dropping Villa Estates, Beachfront Suites and Ocean View Rooms, all dusted across the lush hillside and stunning Deadman’s Bay beach, with ample privacy, seclusion, and views for days.
Unfailingly-good food and marvellously attentive service. Deadman’s Beach Bar and Grill is the only reason you’ll want to leave the beach by day, and there’s beach service for when you don’t. Drake’s is popular with guests and yachties alike, and Tradewinds’ divine bistro-style Asian-Caribbean cuisine culminates with desserts you won’t want to miss.
On top of all the usual land- and water-based adventures that keep active types amused, there are unique alternatives too (sunset at the loop each day from 5pm, lessons in the art of grilling and smoking from one of the world-class chefs, or the resort’s weekly horticultural tour).
And while there’s no formal kids’ programme, there’s lots for everyone to do together: eight miles of trails to explore, a host of free watersports, five-star PADI dive centre, tennis, beach volleyball and basketball, mountain biking and snorkelling, sailing excursions, private beach picnics, or games in the resort’s club room.
